Tuxedo (Transactions for Unix, Extended for Distributed Operations) is a middleware platform used to handle distributed dealings processing around distributed computing environments. Dinner jacket occurs as TOM : Transaction Oriented Middleware.
It was originally developed & designed by AT&T in 1984 for the creation and administration of e-commerce online transaction processing (OLTP) systems. A foremost applicatiin that it was utilized on was known as LMOS.
